When I was a boy of 7 years I ran away from home
I thought the world would need me more than the place where I had grown
But all that I found was evil and disgrace
A boy’s virgin hopes turned out to be misplaced
And I started wandering what I could do
I’ve been ripping up my family had left all my best friends, too

When I was just 22 I bought myself a knife
Killing other people was a revelation off life
I thought they were happy when I cut their disguise
They even had believed in their own lies
And this was when they put me into jail
I was sentenced to death I was a mess, o god help me here

I’m sitting in my cell right now praising the Lord
I doubted my sins and the moral that they taught
And soon I was in heaven with the good ones that have lived
and also with the hopeless I have killed
and it turned out to be just true:
unless the things that you do are made for love you burn in hell

oh mother please forgive me, I never meant to do you no harm
rejected from life I was never satisfied
